Back in Provo

Well, my flight went well... that is, when it finally got to Boise. It was a lovely 45 minute flight and about a million times more enjoyable than riding in a car for +6 hours. My Saturday was very unproductive though. I sat in the airport, I sat in the plane, I sat in a theater watching Harry Potter, I sat in the car and rode from Salt Lake to Provo, I sat in another theater and watched Despicable Me. In case you can't tell, I sat for a majority of the day. The only productive thing I did was unpack my bags, and that's not much to be proud of.

Sunday was a much more productive day. I believe it is because neither one of my roommates were back from Thanksgiving break. They were due back that night so I had hours on my hands and not much to do. As I was making a few Christmas decorations, I decided it would be a good time to write some letters. For the past few months I have been an awful letter writer/responder. I found letters that I received in April, June and August that I still hadn't responded to. So Sunday was my day of catch-up. I felt so good after I did. I wrote a letter (at least a page long) to 5 different missionary friends! Amazingly, all five of those letters were sent somewhere in California. I swear, I know someone serving in almost every California mission! I secretly like it though. I mailed them yesterday, so I should get some letters back in a week or two. Sometimes I think I like getting mail more than missionaries do! haha, but seriously, I really like getting mail. I've gotten a response from Elder Sorensen and Elder Clipp and it totally made my day! Imagine what they must feel when they finally get a letter from a good friend. I'm going to try and do better at writing them, especially since Christmas is almost coming. I think I'm going to send them each a card. That should be good, right? :D

Thanksgiving Break Fun.... or Not

Thanksgiving break was a well deserved break. The week previous was full of tests, papers and large projects. Stress levels were much too high and the melatonin was running low. To make matters worse, a huge winter storm was headed my way. I was worried I wouldn't make it home for Thanksgiving. Luckily, my ride decided to leave Saturday instead of Monday. So I quit my job and went home for a break. However, this break was not as relaxing as I had hoped. I was worried that my roommates wouldn't make it home before the storm. I didn't know if my sister would be coming, which would leave me without a ride back to Provo. And, to make matters worse, I lost a bag full of Christmas gifts at Wal-Mart. It was definitely not my week.

But then, things started looking up. I was refunded all my gifts, my roommates made it home safely, but my sister was unable to make it home for Thanksgiving. I have the best parents in the world though! My dad booked me a flight to Salt Lake City, UT so I could make it back to Provo in time for school. You would think I'd be a little nervous about it. I haven't been on a plane since I was 8 years old and I've never flown by myself.

That's where I am now. In the airport. Waiting for my flight. If everything went as planned, I would be in the air, right now. But, heaven forbid everything go as planned. After an entire week of cold, dry weather, it decided to snow this morning. SNOW! Now my flight has been delayed. Instead of leaving at 11:53am, it was changed to 12:45 pm. As of right now, it's not leaving until 1:18. Joy. It's only an hour long flight! If it had left when it was suppose to, I would be in Salt Lake at 1:18, not still in the Boise airport. Oh well. If my flight had been on time, I probably wouldn't have started up my blog again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are no more delays! Wish me luck!
